Aerotek Named to List of 2007 Most Admired Companies
Aerotek recently was named as one of the Most Admired Companies in 2007 by U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology, a magazine devoted to promoting opportunities for Black Americans in the engineering, science and technology fields. This is the second year in a row Aerotek has received this honor compiled from minority professionals with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) backgrounds.
The third annual survey was based on 64 questions revolved around aspects of the respondents’ interest in STEM careers, why they choose to work at a certain company and how they view the diversity efforts of their employers. “It is an honor to be recognized for the second year in row as one of the Most Admired Companies for Minority Professionals,” said Vinay Nayak, Vice President of Sales and Diversity Board Chairperson. “It gives us the confidence that our internal efforts to promote diversity awareness are having a positive impact on how we recruit professionals and the way candidates view our company.”
Aerotek continues to focus on expanding its diversity efforts to ensure the recruitment and delivery of the best candidates to its clients. Aerotek has redefined many of the traditional recruiting sources to include different pipelines to reach a more diverse candidate including targeted Web sites and publications, colleges and universities and participation and sponsorships with various organizations such as Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering (AMIE) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
As the largest provider of technical and engineering staffing, Aerotek has established a corporate partnership with AMIE to bring diversity to the engineering workforce. Aerotek also partners with HBCUs to promote career opportunities in engineering and supported AMIE’s Distinguished Engineer Lecture Series at featured HBCU campuses across the country.
