Aerotek, a leading provider of recruiting and staffing services, was recently named to the Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list for 2012 by G.I Jobs, a military recruitment website and magazine. According to G.I. Jobs, the list recognizes corporations that have made a significant commitment to hiring former military, whether through special internal military recruitment programs, policies to support those called into active duty or other hiring efforts.
This is Aerotek’s first year on the list and they are the only staffing provider to be named a military-friendly employer for 2012. Through their Military Recruiting Program, Aerotek makes a concerted effort to find employment for those transitioning out of the military into civilian work by finding placements on government contracts and private sector positions.
“Aerotek recognizes the sacrifice our armed forces make every day throughout their military careers and feel that it is our duty to help them transition into civilian life by providing them with potential employment opportunities,” said John King, Vice President of Aerotek Government Services. “We are honored by this recognition as one of the top military friendly employers and are proud that our commitment to helping our nation’s service members is making a difference.”
G.I.Jobs Top 100 Military Friendly Employers lists, and its rankings, are based on a survey that measures a company’s support of hiring and retaining former military. Companies eligible for the list must have minimum annual revenue of $500 million. Government agencies, non-profits and universities do not qualify. Each company is assessed in different categories such as, assets dedicated to hiring military and percentage of new veteran hires. Five experts in military recruiting and transition served on the advisory board that oversaw the findings of these surveys.
