What is the cost of Aerotek's services to job seekers?

There is no cost to job seekers. We are paid by the companies where our employees are placed.

What type of benefits do you offer?

Benefit packages vary based on position, location, duration and other factors. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance and paid holidays / vacation days may be available. Specifics of benefits package are based on the assignment and hours worked. Visit the Working with Aerotek page for more information.

How long do the assignments last?

The length of the assignment varies according to our customer’s needs. Some are short-term; some are long-term. We work to match the right person with the right job, so if you desire long-term assignments with 40-hour work weeks, then we'll strive to put you in that type of assignment, however the assignments are subject to our customer’s needs.

How and when am I paid?

Contract employees are paid weekly by Aerotek. Typically contract employees are based on the number of hours worked and the position's pay rate; in some cases contract employees are paid a salary. Direct placement employees are paid in accordance with our customer’s payroll policies.

Do you have a general mailbox for resumes, or do I have to apply for a specific job?

If you'd like to be considered for employment, but do not see a current job posting that matches your skills and experiences, you may submit your resume directly into the Thingamajob resume database.

What is Thingamajob.com?

Thingamajob.com is an online employment tool that allows visitors to search for jobs and post resumes. It is wholly owned and operated by Allegis Group, the parent company of Aerotek. Posting your resume and setting up an account in Thingamajob.com is the best way to get your information in front of our professional recruiters.

I am relocating soon. Can I apply for a job in my new location?

Job applications require a valid, current address. You can indicate your geographic preferences for work on your application. To indicate your geographic preferences choose one or more cities in the eligibility section of your job application.

Do you offer internships?

We primarily staff specific jobs with our customers. We do offer internships at our corporate offices in Hanover, MD (near Baltimore) in a variety of positions. Please contact our corporate office about internship possibilities at 410-694-5100 or 1-800-AEROTEK.

Do you hire contractors on a corp-to-corp basis? Do you hire independent contractors?

Aerotek hires its employees on a W-2 basis. Aerotek withholds taxes from our contactors and earnings are reported to the IRS each year. Aerotek employees must complete a W-4 form at the beginning of their employment. Aerotek generally does not hire contractors on a 1099 basis or by way of corp-to-corp arrangements.

Work Eligibility / Sponsorship Questions

Does Aerotek have a minimum age requirement to work?

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age in order to be considered for employment.

Does Aerotek hire permanent resident aliens? Green card holders? Those with valid work visas?

Most Aerotek positions are open to any individual eligible to work in the United States. This includes those with valid Employment Authorization Documents, those with valid United States Permanent Resident Cards (aka Green Cards), and others eligible to work in the United States as described on Department of Homeland Security document I-9.

Some positions have more stringent eligibility requirements, particularly jobs with our customers who work directly for the Federal government or as authorized Federal contractors. The eligibility requirements for these positions are described in the individual job postings.

I live overseas and want to move to the United States. Does Aerotek offer sponsorship?

Would Aerotek be willing to transfer H1?

Contractor Questions

How do I get a blank timecard?

Please contact your Aerotek office by phone for timecards.

When will W-2 forms be mailed out?

W-2 forms are mailed out the last week of January to your address on file as of January 1.

If you moved after your employment with us and provided us with a new address via a local office before January, we have your new address in our system and your W-2 will be delivered to that address.

If you have a different address from when you were employed with us, please contact the local office that employed you with your updated address information.

If you’ve signed up for an online W-2, you will receive an email from TALX when the online W-2 is available to view. If you have questions about your online W-2, click here to contact TALX directly.

If you have not received your W-2 by mid-February, you can request a reprint from the office that employed you.

What is Aerotek's Employer Identification Number (EIN)?

Identification numbers are provided on your W-2 form. Forms are mailed the last week in January.

How do I find the office nearest to me?

Visit Aerotek Locations to view our U.S., Canada and Europe office locations. You can also dial 1-888-AEROTEK to be connected to the nearest office.

I don't live near an Aerotek office. Can I still apply for jobs with you?

We work with many companies that have locations all over the country, not just near major metropolitan areas.

You should first create an account and post your resume online at our proprietary site, Thingamajob.com.

Once your resume is posted, our recruiters will be able to view your resume. With your account you can apply for jobs and contact our recruiters whose information is located at the bottom of each posting. Our recruiters will be happy to discuss employment opportunities with you.

Aerotek Mobile App Questions

How much does the Aerotek Mobile App Cost?

There is no cost to download the Aerotek Mobile App. Currently the Aerotek Mobile App is only accessible in the Apple App Store, available for download across the iPhone, iPad and iPod.

What can the Aerotek Mobile App do?

The Aerotek mobile app gives job seekers a competitive edge by providing real-time access to job opportunities and an inside track to professional recruiter knowledge and research. Users can browse open positions and immediately apply; gain quick access to information such as interview tips; and locate an Aerotek office – all at the touch of a button.

Why do you need my email address to set a Job Alert?

The email address is needed to verify your account. We do not share or provide your email address to any third party sources.

What is Thingamajob.com?

How do I stop the application from freezing and/or crashing?

If the application is freezing and/or crashing, please email aerotekmobilejobsupport@aerotek.com with the subject line “FAQ from Mobile Application”. Please state in your email what the exact issue is or what you are performing which is resulting in an application error.

Does Aerotek sell any of my information provided on this application?

No. We do not sell your personal information nor do we share any personal information with advertising vendors.

Can I delete my Job Alert?

Yes. Simply swipe the Job Alert away and you will no longer receive that alert.

How long will the Job Alerts continue to send me notifications?

If you do not delete the Job Alerts manually and/or turn off notifications within your app settings, then you will automatically receive alerts via the frequency you selected for up to 6 months.

Why did my job alert get deleted?

The job alert will remain active for 180 days. If the user does not click to view the alert from the push notification during the 180 days, the job alert will be removed and the user will not receive any push notifications. If there are no matches for the job alert during the 180 days, the job alert will be removed and the user will not receive any push notifications.

What happens when I delete a job alert?

If the user deletes the alert, the job alert will be removed and the user will not receive any push notifications. If the user uninstalls the app or turns off the job alert feature, the user will not receive any push notifications.

How do I refer a friend?
