Job Summary

Utilization Review Registered Nurse
  • Reviews all patients for severity of illness and intensity of service using InterQual IS/SI criteria
  • Conducts concurrent stay review to ensure patient continues to meet criteria
  • Initiates referrals to Physician Advisor on questions of appropriate admissions, continued stay, and quality of care. Discusses cases with PA's and contacts attending physician with result of the review
  • Works closely with attending physicians to insure appropriate documentation
  • Provide concurrent review to third party payers and Discharge Planning

The Case Manager must demonstrate an understanding of the ranges of treatment, needs and skills necessary to provide continuity of care to infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.

Ability to work with different insurance, mostly working with medicare and managed medicare

Must be Registered Nurse with current CA license, two years clinical/ acute care and 1 year Case Management
