Hiring a Lead Embedded Engineer for a growing electronics company located in the Canonsburg area! This role is a direct-hire position with great pay, benefits, and added perks. The Lead Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership in the design, development, and validation of embedded electronic products. Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment; mentors and coaches less experienced peers and team members.



Position Summary:
The Lead Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership in the design, development, and validation of embedded electronic products. Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Duties:
  • Full life-cycle embedded firmware development
  • Lead the creation of specifications and design of electronic products for unique customer applications
  • Assist team members with innovative design concepts and system architectures
  • Create embedded firmware in an RTOS
  • Make updates to existing firmware in support of continuing improvement
  • Own the Software Configuration Management Process
  • Mentor and coach level 1 and level 2 Engineers.
  • Provide technical support to other departments for all embedded designs




Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related discipline)
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded electronic firmware design
  • Communication protocols: Telnet, Modbus, SNMP, BACnet
  • Programming languages: C, C#, HTML
  • Interfaces: Ethernet, RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI
  • Software tools: Eclipse, CodeWarrior, MCUXpresso, Visual Studio, Visio
  • Proven technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation
  • Advanced understanding of embedded microprocessor
  • Software requirements development
  • Expert at developing embedded software, device drivers and applications.
  • Proficiency with electrical theory in DC and three-phase AC power distribution.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of the design and application of metering products.
