Customer Service Representative

Job Description
  • Directly interacts with a variety of customers daily.
  • Processes healthcare authorizations approved by VA, places outbound calls and receives calls to schedule Veterans' appointments.
  • Ensures accurate data entry and completion of authorization data from referral/authorization forms, medical documentation, existing data contained in the TriWest medical management system and customer information.
  • Contacts providers to obtain missing medical documentation to assure compliance with timelines.
  • Provides back-up by phone to facilitate patient transfers as requested by VA.
  • Works in a detailed, multi-tasked and fast-paced production environment.


Qualifications

Required
* High School diploma or G.E.D.
* 1+ years experience working in an inbound/outbound call center and/or medical appointing
* Proficient with Microsoft Word and data entry skills
* Proficient with Outlook, the Internet and on-line systems

Preferred
* 1+ years college or equivalent
* 1+ years experience in an administrative or medical office environment
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Managed Care experience

Work Environment

MUST be able to work 8:00am-5:00pm (hours of operation)

Working Conditions
o Availability to work any shift M-F, including with overtime as required. Call volume: 60-70 calls/day.
o Works in a standard office environment, in a fast-paced production environment
o Ability to meet production requirements on a regular basis
o Extensive computer work with prolonged sitting and wearing of headset
