Job Description

The Process Engineer position is to focus on high complexity manufacturing processes and is key to the standardization and advancement of the processes. This role is also responsible for solving customer / assembly specific problems in the manufacturing process and ensuring process designs are achieving the highest efficiency. The position will support day-to-day operations, effectiveness and influence the next generation of customer designs.

The main responsibility of the process engineer is to develop, improve, and control all processes and equipment related to the manufacturing of circuit card assemblies. The process engineer will typically spend about 50% of their time on the floor and 50% at their desk. The majority of the work they do will be independent work because it will focus on longer term projects of developing processes, and correcting issues as they arise on the manufacturing floor. A typical day for a process engineer would include gathering and analyzing yield/quality related datasets, correcting issues on the floor, and driving actions to completion to fix known historical defect trends. The job will also include a lot of technical writing for standardized work documentation as this is a big part of developing a process.

  • MUST HAVE a BS degree in Engineering
  • Must have solid process engineering experience in the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) industry in a high-reliability environment
  • Engineering experience in SMT and wave/selective soldering
  • In depth knowledge of solder paste, solder alloys, and different flux types
  • Software experience such as autocad, minitab, microsoft suite
