Job Summary

Job Description: As a member of the Research & Development team, the Control Systems Engineer will conduct fundamental and applied research for design concept development to improve or generate new: products, components, equipment, systems, and processes. Will utilize both existing and new scientific methods and theories to solve problems. Responsibilities include: devising research methods, building models and prototypes, calculating and analyzing test results, and preparing reports with recommendations and conclusions. Will prepare specifications and other technical documentation so that prototype designs can be manufactured and assembled. Must develop and maintain technical expertise on advances and innovations in research and science. Works under general supervision with advanced knowledge in subject matter. Will coordinate design efforts with other R&D disciplines. Will research state of the art products and processes and report back on anything they may want to look into incorporating.
Work Environment: Work is preformed in business casual environment. Standard hours are M-F 8-5, however, alternative schedules are available with discussion and agreement with manager. 40 hours expected. Parking is free.
Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
5-7 years of experience preferred
Prior numerical computing and data simulation experience required
Knowledge of and hands-on experience with control systems
Must have proven experience in PLC logic, programming with PLC's and HMI's
Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up
Has acquired or is working towards obtaining P.E. license is preferred
Self-motivated individual with the ability to set and achieve goals
Excellent organizational skills
Expected to perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
Excellent professional and interpersonal skills
Performance Expectations: BEST candidate will have a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience. Some exposure to drilling is preferred, but not required.
