Job Summary

Job Description
-Oversee multiple projects from conception to completion for mid- to large-scale projects including healthcare, educational, corporate, multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, etc.
-Perform structural load calculations, analysis and structural design for complex, commercial buildings
-Coordinate directly with principals, client, consultants, designers and architects on the projects
-Coordinate responsibilities and mentor junior engineers on the team (1-3 staff)

Work Environment
-Firm is a long-standing structural engineering firm that specifically works on domestic projects for larger-scale projects and clients. Works with some of the largest architecture firms in the nation.
-Flexible start times (7-9am) with 7-10 hour days depending on deadlines.
-In West Loop/Greektown - lots of restaurants, right by the CTA, Metra and Amtrak lines.

-Bachelors or Masters in Structural Engineering
-4 or more years of experience designing and performing load calculations for commercial buildings
-Experience with steel, post-tension, and concrete design
-Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office
-1 or more years of experience managing projects independently and overseeing junior staff.

*Nice to have RamConcept, ETABS, Risa, SAP, Tekla Designer or STAAD
