Aerotek® Inc., a leading provider of recruiting and staffing services, today announced that it will sponsor the 27th Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference for the eighth consecutive year. At the event, two of Aerotek’s veteran contractors will be recognized as Science Spectrum Trailblazers, an award given to minority men and women who demonstrate outstanding performance in shaping the future course of the science and technology industries.
In addition to Aerotek’s award recipients, Rodney Scaife, vice president of human resources at Allegis Group, Aerotek’s parent company, will offer a keynote address during the Student Awards Gala to inspire a new generation of employees to find success in STEM industries, and Mikey Wheeler, Aerotek’s director of financial operations, will present the Leadership and Community Awards at the gala. Additionally, Thad Gruss, senior account executive for Aerotek’s scientific division, will present during Friday’s “Advances and Discoveries in Biotechnology” seminar, and Brian Olds, training specialist, will present during Saturday’s “Corporate Boot Camp: Transitioning from College to Careers” seminar.
“Our partnership with BEYA is a reflection of our commitment to continuing to lead the staffing industry in placing engineering, technical and scientific personnel. This conference brings together the best and brightest from government, industry and academia to help grow diverse networks and drive future innovation in STEM,” said Executive Director for Diversity & Inclusion Shelton Guinn.
BEYA is designed to help organizations cultivate engaged employees and create a network of role models who can serve as inspiration to others. The three-day conference, which includes more than 20,000 STEM attendees from both the private and public sectors, features opportunities for training; recruiting; interfacing and building partnerships with historically black colleges, other federal agencies and the private industry.
