Aerotek’s Appleton, Wisconsin office began its partnership with the St. Joseph’s Food Program in 2009, when members of its local team visited the food bank to help unemployed and homeless individuals find jobs. In 2012, the Appleton office expanded its partnership with St. Joseph’s, sending two members of the team to volunteer for four hours every Friday morning – donating more than 800 volunteer hours to date. With more than 40 employees in the Aerotek Appleton office, the team uses a rotation schedule so that everyone is able to volunteer on a semi-regular basis.
“I think Aerotek and the way they’ve partnered with St. Joe’s is a really good example of how businesses can partner with nonprofits in a mutually beneficial way,” explained Leah Thibodeau, volunteer coordinator at St. Joseph’s Food Program. “It’s a true partnership.”
Along with its weekly volunteer efforts, the Appleton office raised more than $20,000 for St. Joseph during the Human Race, a local 5K fundraiser for nonprofits. The fundraising efforts helped meet St. Joseph’s financial needs to provide milk to the 1,200 families it serves.
