Senior Manager, Clinical Operations
I have a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in regulatory affairs for drugs, biologics and medical devices. This is the only industry I have worked in since graduating from college.
The company I work for is a worldwide designer, developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices used in interventional diagnostic procedures. I have worked here for more than eight years, and I currently work in the Clinical Research Department, managing all aspects of daily operations for the clinical research studies in the United States and Europe. We are results driven, team oriented and hold customer experience above all else.
I was introduced to Aerotek in 2013 by a colleague of mine. I was in need of contract clinical research associates in Europe. Since I am from the United States, I needed assistance in finding the right people for the jobs I needed to fill. Aerotek provided me with several qualified candidates to which I was able to sort though, interview and pick the right candidates.
The most unique position that Aerotek helped to place was a contract clinical research associate in Egypt. Aerotek identified 75 CRA’s that were approached for this position. Of those candidates, there were not many that had the qualification that we were looking for. This was not due to the skill set, but that in Egypt, contracting is almost unheard of and people would not leave a permanent role for a one week per month monitoring job. Of the 75 candidates identified, Aerotek provided me with three highly CVs of qualified candidates.
This candidate has been a critical aspect in getting our study up and running in Egypt. I don’t know what we would do without her! She is extremely knowledgeable in not only clinical research in Egypt but she is familiar with United States regulations and the Federal Drug Administration.
To date, Aerotek has placed four positions, three of which are still contracting with our company now. Two of the positions have been contracting with us since 2013. It is crucial to have highly qualified contractors in countries that you aren’t familiar with the country and government laws, regulations and where the language is not your first language. These contractors are our eyes and ears on the ground. They ensure that our clinical trials are functioning according to the applicable country laws and to our standard operating procedures.
I have had nothing but a positive experience with Aerotek, especially in dealing with Phil . He is professional and a pleasure to work with in general. I have confidence that he will always find me qualified candidates. We do not typically use staffing agencies, however; we have been very satisfied with Aerotek and the quality of the contractors they have placed with us.
