What is thingamajob?
Thingamajob is a web resource that is wholly owned and operated by Allegis Group to serve its staffing companies including Aerotek and TEKsystems. Posting your resume and setting up an account in thingamajob is the best way to get your information in front of our recruiters and job placement specialists.
Do you offer internships?
We primarily staff specific jobs with our client companies. Some of our clients may offer internships, but you would need to contact those companies directly.
We do offer internships at our corporate offices in Hanover, Maryland (near Baltimore) in a variety of positions. Please contact our corporate office about internship possibilities at 410-694-5100 or 1-800-AEROTEK (800-237-6835).
Do you hire contractors on a corp-to-corp basis? Do you hire independent contractors?
Aerotek hires its employees on a W-2 basis. Aerotek withholds taxes from our contactors and earnings are reported to the IRS each year. Aerotek employees must complete a W-4 form at the beginning of their employment. Aerotek generally does not hire contractors on a 1099 basis or by way of corp-to-corp arrangements.
What is the cost of Aerotek's services to job seekers?
There is no cost to job seekers. We are paid by the companies where our employees are placed.
Do you have a general mailbox for resumes, or do I have to apply for a specific job?
If you'd like to be considered for employment but do not see a current job posting that matches your skills and experiences. You may submit your resume directly into the Thingamajob resume database.
Can I call someone to direct me to the nearest Aerotek office location?

I am relocating soon. Can I apply for a job in my new location?
Job applications require a valid, current address. You can indicate your geographic preferences for work on your application. To indicate your geographic preferences choose one or more cities in the Eligibility section of your job application.
You can also contact the Aerotek office in the area where you will be moving and speak to a recruiter. Our Locations section lists all of our locations and contact information.
What type of benefits do you offer?
Benefit packages vary based on position, location, duration and other factors. Medical / Dental / Vision, Life Insurance, and Paid Holidays / Vacation days may be available. Specifics of benefits package are based on the assignment and hours worked. More details will be provided to you by your Customer Service Associate (CSA) when you are hired.
Work Eligibility / Sponsorship Questions
Does Aerotek have a minimum age requirement to work?
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age in order to be considered for employment.
Does Aerotek hire permanent resident aliens? Green card holders? Those with valid work visas?
Most Aerotek positions are open to any individual eligible to work in the United States for any employer, including those with valid Employment Authorization Documents, those with valid United States Permanent Resident Cards (aka Green Cards), and others eligible to work in the United States as described on Department of Homeland Security document I-9.
Some positions, particularly jobs with our clients who work directly for the Federal government or as authorized Federal contractors have more stringent eligibility requirements. The eligibility requirements for these positions are described in the individual job postings.
I live overseas and want to move to the United States. Does Aerotek offer sponsorship?
Aerotek only hires individuals currently eligible to work in the United States for any employer. Would Aerotek be willing to transfer H1?

Contractor Questions
How do I get a blank timecard?
Please contact your Aerotek office by phone for timecards.
When will W-2 forms be mailed out?
W-2 forms are mailed out the last week of January to your address on file as of January 1st.
If you moved after your employment with us and provided us with a new address via a local office before January, we have your new address in our system and your W-2 will be delivered to that address.
If you have a different address from when you were employed with us, please contact the local office that employed you with your updated address information.
If you have not received your W-2 by mid-February, you can request a reprint from the office that employed you.
What is the Aerotek Employer Identification Number (EIN)?
Identification numbers are provided on your W-2 form. Forms will be mailed the last week in January.

I don't live near an Aerotek office - can I still apply for jobs with you?
We work with many companies that have locations all over the country, not just near major metropolitan areas.
You should first create an account and post your resume online at our proprietary site, thingamajob.
Once your resume is posted, thousands of our recruiters will be able to view your resume. With your account you can apply for jobs and contact our recruiters whose information is located at the bottom of each posting. Our recruiters will be happy to discuss employment opportunities with you.
