Hanover, Md. (May 21, 2024) – Aerotek, a leading workplace solutions provider in manufacturing, logistics, construction, aviation, facilities and maintenance, announced today its Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Social Responsibility, David “DJ” Jordan, has been named to Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) 2024 DE&I Influencers List. This annual award recognizes business leaders from the workforce solutions ecosystem who are paving the way to create opportunities for historically excluded communities.

This is DJ’s third consecutive year being named to SIA’s DE&I Influencer list, which SIA compiles each year to honor those advocating for others — including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, disabled, women and working mothers, and military veterans and spouses — and having the tough conversations on DE&I.

"DJ is a tireless advocate for our people and his work is paramount to ensuring we live up to our commitment to DE&I,” said Tom Kelly, President of Aerotek. “DJ works every day to build new platforms for our employees to share their voice, create space for meaningful conversations and foster collaboration and partnerships that help Aerotek impact positive change. This honor is well deserved.”

Throughout the last year, DJ has worked diligently to increase Aerotek's focus on DE&I and CSR. For the second year under his leadership, all employees and new hires were provided DE&I Foundation Training. Additionally, he has overseen the continued growth of the company’s internal Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which are offered to all employees and now connect more than 1,000 Aerotek employees. ERGs provide the opportunity for employees to commune and advocate for underrepresented communities including Women, Veterans, First Responders & Spouses, LGBTQ+ and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color), Parents & Caregivers, and Health & Fitness.

Under DJ’s leadership, Aerotek has partnered with SkillsUSA to launch the "Make Your Mark" scholarship program. Since its launch in 2023, the program has provided scholarships to more than 200 SkillsUSA members in the skilled trades.

DJ’s passion and lifelong commitment to outreach and advocating for underrepresented communities started more than 25 years ago when he was hired as a recruiter for Aerotek in 1995.
